If all the technical or process preconditions are met, or are being worked hard on, the behavior of people in line with the risk determines safety. Behavior is an unpredictable element in the process. No one starts work with the idea or desire to have or cause an accident. Yet (near) accidents occur daily. To have any chance of creating a situation where we can predict that we won't have an accident, working on the mindset of everyone in the organization is essential. And then also everyone: analyses of accidents show that no one who was injured was entirely responsible for it. Salmay focuses on raising safety awareness throughout the company's chain. Keeping in mind the image of the man/woman who can really get hurt. Once safety awareness is at a good starting level, we start working on the three factors that determine whether behavior change will be effective:

• Capacity (making sure someone 'gets good' at working safely - making a professional also a safety pro)
• Motivation (ensuring that it remains challenging to work safely)
• Environment (ensuring that the physical environment in which a person works helps them work safely)

For each of these factors, Salmay has developed methods and tools that help achieve the big goal: to work structurally safe, accident-free.
