history
at home in dutch industry
Salmay Communications' roots reach back to 1994, the year Aarsen Communications was founded. Two brothers, one soul and one ambition: to build a communications company from which they could both make a living. The first car ride took them to Europoort, the warm beating heart of the Dutch economy. You can literally feel that there, as the earth trembles with activity. 'Aarsen' landed in industry with a first assignment for a large petrochemical company. Later more assignments followed in the same corner, with a communications partnership for Koninklijke Hoogovens (now called Tata Steel via Corus) as the crowning glory.

Aarsen Communications not only proved capable of feeding the brothers' mouths: many employees found their place with the company. As talented, wagging puppy or experienced designer or programmer - always a mix was found to grow talent and leverage experience. The composition of clients was even more fascinating if necessary. Because in addition to the (petrochemical) industry as a major client, organizations with consumer products also found their way to Castricum.
Aarsen Communications
Aarsen Communications developed as a full service communications agency with a broad portfolio. Under one roof, both communication strategy was developed and technical implementation (of resources, including staff magazines) was made possible. Unfortunately, in the midst of this development (2004) Tom Aarsen died in harness. The years that followed were characterized by a great commitment to clients, coupled with the development of a specialty. Not surprisingly, this leads back to the beginning of development: with industry. Internal communications with a focus on occupational safety and behavioral change is a much sought-after expertise of Fred Aarsen. And he still spends the lion's share of his time with clients in the Dutch (construction) industry and construction.

Salmay Communications today
Since early 2011, Aarsen Communications has been operating under the name Salmay Communications. We remain specialists in internal communications, the cement between strategy and practical implementation in the workplace. But our focus is on stimulating and further developing safe behavior. As an extension of this, Salmay is now much in demand for stimulating quality awareness and corporate responsibility - issues that stem from the same behavior. Salmay communications is now a much sought-after full service communications agency within these fields.
Gouda branch
As of October 2012, Salmay also operates from centrally located Gouda. Several industrial clients are located within 30 minutes travel time from this beautiful city from the Golden Age. While Salmay was already close to its clients in a figurative sense, since the branch office in Gouda this is also the case in a literal sense.
